Yacaman to Start 10th at Barber Motorsports Park

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 10, 2010) -- Colombian Gustavo "Tigrillo" Yacamán will start 10th at Barber Motorports Park in the second round of Firestone Indy Lights, Sunday April 11. The 19-year-old will drive the No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara in the first Firestone Indy Lights race on the picturesque 2.3-mile, 17-turn road course in Birmingham, Ala.

Driving in the crisp Alabama morning air in front of a large crowd camped throughout the lush green grass that surrounds the track, Yacamán turned his hot lap of 1:16.1512 (108.731 mph) on Lap 6 during the early morning qualifying session.

“It was a really tough qualifying session,” Yacamán said. “We had been off the pace the whole weekend, but this morning the car was so much better. Unfortunately in the last four minutes of qualifying, we were only able to do one lap with our second set of tires. We are a new team, and we will continue to get better each race. My goal for tomorrow’s race is stay in the top 10 and finish. This is a very tough track for passing, so I need to take it easy and try to keep the car safe to the finish.”

After a morning warm-up at 8:00 a.m., the 40-lap race will begin at 12:00 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET). The race can be seen LIVE on streaming video on Indycar.com. Tickets can be purchased at www.barbermotorsports.com or by calling (800) 240-2300.

The Colombian Gustavo "Tigrillo" Yacamán is supported by CREPES & WAFFLES, MAC BATTERIES, TUVACOL, SSANGYONG, GASES DE OCCIDENTE, SIESA, CINE COLOMBIA and ALCALDIA DE CALI.

Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing was formed in 2010 as a partnership between two successful racing entities. With leadership from brothers Nicholas and Dominic Cape, and along with Wayne Taylor and his organization in Indianapolis, the team campaigns cars in Firestone Indy Lights with Gustavo Yacamán, as well as the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda with drivers Josh Fielding and Patrick McKenna.
