Ricky Taylor  pulled off two late race passes to get by the #6 of Micheal Valiante and Daytona 24hr race winner Darren Law  to put the #13 Lennox Beyer Racing Riley 8th, 27 seconds behind winner #99 Gainsco machine, it moves the Beyer Racing Team into 10th place in the Team Championship, another job well done by the Beyer Boys. Mike Forest put in his best qualifying to date, posting a brilliant 7th place. After the first round of pit stops had cycled through Mike handed over the keys at the 45 minute mark,  and Ricky went to town.
