ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July 14, 2010) – No. 10 Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing driver Gustavo Yacamán and the team head to Canada for this weekend’s Firestone Indy Lights on the Streets of Toronto, Round 7 of 13.
The 100-mile, 50 lap race will be the third street-course event of the season. Yacamán is looking forward to returning to Toronto. He finished eighth at the event last year in his rookie season.
“Toronto is a really cool venue,” Yacamán said. “The track is a lot of fun to drive. I am excited about this weekend because we have made some improvements to the car. We haven’t really been able to show what we really have, so hopefully, this will be our weekend.”
Currently eighth in the point standings halfway through the season, Yacamán looks to finish strong and move up in the points with seven races left.
Yacamán will first be on track Friday, July 16th for practice at 11:15 a.m. He will be on track again for practice the next morning at 8 a.m. with qualifying set to begin at 11:40 a.m. After a morning warm-up on Sunday, July 17th, at 8 a.m., the green flag waves at 10:10 a.m. Practice, qualifying and the race can be viewed live at www.indycar.com.
The two-mile, 12-turn street course attracts a large crowd each year. In addition to Firestone Indy Lights and the IZOD IndyCar Series, the event weekend will feature the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Canadian Touring Car, World Challenge and Trans-Am.
