IMSA Lites IMSA Lites is the latest racing series to be sanctioned by the International Motor Sport Association, and Hankook Tire is pleased to be the Spec Tire of this professional sports racer series. IMSA Lites will feature three classes of open-top sports racer prototypes to be called Lites 1, Lites 2, and Lites 3. All three classes will compete on the Hankook Ventus F200 racing slick. IMSA Lites is considered a step up for a racer who wants to advance beyond traditional club racing or to prepare for a career in a world-class series such as American Le Mans (ALMS). IMSA Lites is yet another example of an affordable racing series with cars being manufactured by builders such as Van Diemen, Radical, and West Race Cars. Similar to the Alms, IMSA Lites will feature multi-class racing which will present an extra dimension of competition, as drivers of the Lites 1 cars will be traveling at distinctively different speeds than the slower and lighter Lites 2 cars, and Lites 3. In 2006 the IMSA Lites series will compete at premier tracks like Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lime Rock Park, and Road America.
