History
Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing was formed in 2010 as a partnership between two successful racing entities. With leadership from brothers Nicholas and Dominic Cape, and along with Wayne Taylor and his organization in Indianapolis, the team campaigns cars in the Firestone Indy Lights Championship with Gustavo Yacamán, as well as the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda with drivers Josh Fielding and Patrick McKenna. The goal of Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing is to provide unmatched driver development both on and off the track. It is difficult for a young driver to jump into a professional series and win, regardless of talent. Through coaching and mentoring, Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing provides young drivers with as much knowledge of motorsports to become as successful as possible. Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing has created a testing program for racers, to help them develop the skills they need to compete on a professional level, from driving, technical knowledge on set-up, data acquisition and communication skills with a race engineer. Programs can be tailored to fit any budget and schedule, making the transition into professional racing seamless. Though a new venture, the two racing entities combined experience in American motorsports and proven track record are unmatched in driver development and performance. The Cape brothers have won five championships, three rookie-of-the-year honors and amassed 54 wins and 68 pole positions in the USF2000, IMSA Lites and Cooper Series. In 2007, the brothers engineered programs in the Firestone Indy Lights Series with teams such as Andersen Racing where they won the rookie-of-the-year title with JR Hildebrand. They also have experience in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series in the top-tier Daytona Prototype class. Three-time sports car champion Taylor is an accomplished driver, having won the 24 Hours of LeMans, the Rolex 24 At Daytona (twice) and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
